From my walk past Trump Tower today.
Update: Uh, never mind, we’re staying in New York because I can’t make up my mind.
I’ll be moving to Philadelphia at the end of this year, after a year of living in New York City.
Lovably will continue to locally serve NYC, and now Philadelphia and DC, too. Weekly Meal will transfer to Philadelphia. Like New York, there are many people who need help, and thanks to lower rent, we’ll actually be able to afford it.
I have little else to say that hasn’t already been said before.
I’ve found New York and its money-driven culture to be a toxic place to live for creativity. Yes, it has had a huge impact on the next album, but I just can’t make music here the way I want to.
When I move in November, I’ll be renting out studio space, separate from my apartment, for Lovably, which I’ll use to record the album. Studio space + apartment space together will still equal hundreds less than what I pay for my 320 sqft NYC apartment now. I’ll be perfectly on track for my targeted 2018 release.
I can’t wait to hear it for myself, and can’t wait for you to hear it, too.
Thank you so much for following along.
